Hello dear support ppl,
Issue description
===================
I installed and enabled the W3 cache plugin with all settings default and enabled. Exception to that is I didn't enable any login-requiring options like CDN. Also I got a prompt with something like "Minifying error, too long paths. Go to minifying options, selct manual and increase path length", at which point I did and changed value from default 150 to 200. Everything else as is by default.
Waited a few minutes and reloaded my site http://tourofcrete.com which seemed to take a very long time (10+ seconds) ending up in a webpage that looked like plain html (or at least very heavily dismorphed, no background, no styling I can remember).
I then disabled the plugin and uninstalled it. Webpage presentation was a bit restored but there are still styling errors, especially with anything about WP admin bar (when logged in). Using FF's network request analysis tool I observe numerous error500's all of which are in *.min.* files.
Doing a search in the directories I also find loads of *.min.* files all around even though I uninstalled the plugin.
I haven't used any other caching/minification plugin/method before in fear of breaking my site. I only tried this because in your description you said it was safe 100@%.
What I tried:
============
- I tried reinstalling the plugin, activating, deactivating, at all states no change with error500's.
What I need:
============
- I need to know how to revert all calls to minified files back to previous un-minified ones.
- I need to know if it is ok to delete all *.min.* files to declutter my directory.
Thank you for your time and I really hope you can help me revert the issues caused by this plugin.
Kostis
